Education alone is not enough! It is essential to apply knowledge in real-world scenarios. Throughout my career, I have worked with dedication and passion in various organizations, and each role presented unique challenges. Some of the feathers that I proudly wear on my hat, which I achieved during my remarkable professional journey, are:

  • As the CEO of Community Rehabilitation Services, PC, I oversaw the provision of Physical, occupational, and speech therapy services, as well as social worker services. Over the years, I grew the business from 1 to 5 facilities, providing care to numerous patients and employing a team of professionals and non-professionals.
  • My role as a physical therapist at Ogemaw Hills Free Clinic allowed me to provide much-needed care to those who could not afford treatment otherwise. Such a deep experience humbled me and strengthened my commitment to giving back to society.
  • I proudly served on the Board for South University Physical Therapy Assistant program. It was an honor to help develop the program from the beginning and deliver the keynote speech at the first graduation ceremony.
  • Serving on the Michigan Board of Physical Therapy was an honor and a challenge that I embraced wholeheartedly. As Chairperson, I made ethical and professional decisions on behalf of the residents of Michigan, always keeping health and safety at the forefront. As the chairperson of the educational committee, overseeing case complaints as a Conference Committee member and being a part of the disciplinary subcommittee here were equally important in ensuring the highest standards in the field.
  • I’m actively volunteering for the American Red Cross, assisting in emergency response and disaster relief efforts. It continuously intensifies my empathy and reinforces my compassion for the needy.
  • I must highlight the immense challenges I faced in securing the position as Treasurer of the Ogemaw County Republican Party and Rose City-Lupton Chamber of Commerce. It was fierce competition and needed thorough determination to succeed. Even so, I secured these roles, and they influenced my personal and professional growth largely.
  • I’m also proud of my involvement with the American Public Health Association as a committee member and the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy as a chief reviewer and Item writer (writing questions for the national Physical Therapy exam), respectively.  These two significant roles helped me towards the development and advancement of my field on a national level.
  • In my capacity as a board member and trustee for the St. Helen Chamber of Commerce, I actively contributed to the development and growth of the local business community. It was a very tough task! But my endless efforts not only helped them achieve economic prosperity but I was also promoted to my current position of Vice President at the St. Helen Chamber of Commerce. It was an intense competition for this position, but Vijay got his victory again, and I came out with flying colors. I am now entrusted with critical responsibilities at St. Helens.
  • Along with my many community involvements I serve on the Roscommon County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) which help provide leadership to promote economic growth and development while enhancing the quality of life in Roscommon County.  I also sit on the Business Development Sub-Committee within the EDC.
  • As I dig deeper in the community my appointment as a board Member for Ogemaw County Building and Zoning Appeals Board gave me great understanding in serving the people where the board reviewed complaints of construction plans and zoning laws in the county.
